Trainees must hold a valid certificate of training on the equipment they are required to teach on. They must have undergone a test by an accredited instructor within 12 months prior to the course, have the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs of different trainees, be able to communicate effectively, and be able to lead and control.

The course is highly participative and candidates will be expected to take part in all activities as the award of the qualification is based mainly on assessed performance. Throughout the course the candidates progress will be asessed and he/she will receive regular feedback.

New Instructor: 10 days, two consecutive weeks, Monday-Friday starting 8:30 finishing 4:30. We provide light refreshments at break times including a buffet lunch.

5 Year Re-Registration: 4 days, consecutive Tuesday-Friday starting at 8:30 finishing 4:30. We also provde light refreshments at break times.

Course Testing

These examinations are timetabled at various stages during the course and time is available for further practice and retakes if necessary. All examinations are assessed by the course tutor and during the course the tutor will be monitored by an ITSSAR monitor to ensure that necessary standards are being met.

Successful candidates will have their names entered on the national register and will have the necessary qualifications to carry out training and testing as required by the Code of Practice. This qualification is then valid for 5 years.
Our services continue after the course with information and help available by Telephone or Email, all instructors will also receive the relevent paperwork and Health & Saftey books to conduct training once in the work place.
