Access Platform Training

General course information
This course is designed to provide compliance with the HASAWA regulations. The working at height regulations, provision and use of work equipment regulations (PUWER) and the lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations (LOLER). Instructing delegates in all aspects of the safe and correct use of the equipment.

  • Inspection and use of harnesses
  • Understand the requirements of the relevant legislation
  • Parking and securing MEWPs

Certification renewal
Recommended every 3 years however this may depend on the company’s risk assessments and internal policies.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require employers to ensure that a sufficient risk assessment is carried out so that all potential work at height risks are effectively identified, controlled and managed. Every employer must also ensure that employees are appropriately trained to ensure that they can carry out their work safely.There are many different types of Access and working at height equipment. CB Training provide training for most types of equipment and related courses.

Facilities / requirements
A training room suitable for the number of delegates will be required. Sufficient practical training space will be required to carry out assessments and testing. Delegates will require PPE as per the company’s internal risk assessments.

Steps & Ladder Training

General course information
This course is to ensure all delegates are competent to: Assess and determine when it’s appropriate to use a ladder or stepladder and correctly locate and safely use ladders & stepladders.
Course content

  • The Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
  • Legislation and regulations affecting work at height
  • Product standards and classification for ladders & stepladders
  • Safe systems of work and hazards
  • Protecting the public and other workers
  • PPE requirements / care / maintenance & use
  • Safe storage & handling techniques
  • Pre use safety checks
  • Safe use of ladders, stepladders (as applicable)
  • Theoretical and Practical testing

Experience required
No prior knowledge of topic required, delegates will need to be fit and capable of lifting and carrying ladders and stepladders.
